The Amazing Digital Circus Presale Surge Forces Theater Expansion Ahead of Finale

The Amazing Digital Circus is driving a rush of ticket buying after its theatrical finale launch, with Fathom saying presales reached $5 million in just four days. The response has pushed theater owners to seek more screenings ahead of the June 5 event in the U. S., Canada, Latin America, and Japan, while the final episode remains set for YouTube two weeks later. The Amazing Digital Circus is now expanding from a limited run into a much larger two-week theatrical window, with exhibitor demand still building in Eastern Time terms as the rollout continues this week.

Presales hit a company record in four days

Fathom says the opening four days of ticket sales set a new presale record for the company, surpassing its previous high of $3 million set in 2023. The theatrical event, titled “The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act, ” is now scheduled to play on a minimum of 1, 800 screens, up from an earlier plan for 900 theaters over a four-day limited engagement.

The shift came after theater owners began reaching out to add the event to their circuits. Fathom CEO Ray Nutt said new exhibitors have been calling to book the title, while existing partners are asking for more showtimes. He credited Glitch for taking a chance on the theatrical format and said the audience response shows there is real demand for this series on the big screen.

Fan demand is shaping the rollout

The Amazing Digital Circus has built a large online audience since its pilot premiered in October 2023 and has since passed 425 million views. The series is created by Gooseworx and follows six transformed characters inside a virtual world ruled by Caine, a manic AI ringmaster. Its eighth episode ended on a cliffhanger after Caine was accidentally deleted, leaving the group trapped in a collapsed version of the Digital Circus.

The current theatrical release is being framed as more than a standard event screening. The Amazing Digital Circus has become a test of whether an online animated series can generate sustained box office-style demand before its digital debut, especially when fans are eager to avoid spoilers and see the ending together.

Creator addresses the two-week gap

Kevin Lerdwichagul, CEO of Glitch Productions, said the two-week gap between theaters and the YouTube release came after extensive negotiations with exhibitors. He said the release has the potential to change how the industry views indie animation and noted that the arrangement was not ideal for everyone, but was the result of back and forth that left two weeks as the final compromise.

Lerdwichagul also said the team is in active talks with several theater chains in many countries, and he encouraged fans to contact local cinemas directly. On the theater side, the company is now adding screening dates and times in the U. S., while the release has also expanded into Australia, New Zealand, and Venezuela.

What happens next for the finale

The next major checkpoint is the June 5 theatrical release, when audiences in multiple territories will see Episode 8 paired with the finale under the title “The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act. ” After that, the final episode is set to arrive on YouTube two weeks later. The Amazing Digital Circus now stands as a closely watched test case for indie animation, theatrical demand, and fan-driven release momentum, with more screen additions still possible before opening day.
