Sarah Maltby, political member with responsibility for motorsport and tourism, said the TT has always been one of the island’s greatest assets, describing it as a world-class event with a unique identity and international appeal. She said the two entertainment projects could create lasting value by supporting destination awareness, strengthening the island’s global profile, and helping more people discover what makes the isle of man special.
Paul Phillips, head of motorsport at the Department for Enterprise, said the reach of a project like this goes far beyond motorsport. He said it creates a new opportunity for the isle of man and a chance to connect the TT, and the place that makes it possible, with entirely new audiences around the world.
What was seen before, and what comes next
The project had already drawn attention during the 2023 TT Races, when fans spotted Channing Tatum at the event meeting riders and teams and taking in action around the course. Plans for the production were later revealed during the 2024 races, setting up the current filming timeline.
For now, the focus is on how the 2026 TT will absorb a feature production without losing its sporting core. If the balance holds, the isle of man will not just host the races; it will also become the setting for a film effort designed to travel far beyond race week.
