He added that offseason work has helped build that sense of control. His training includes situational one-on-one drills, limited-dribble possessions, and shot-clock simulations designed to keep him calm under pressure and sharpen his internal timing.

The shot was not a one-off. Pritchard has built a reputation for late-quarter long-range attempts, including a halfcourt shot in the 2024 NBA Finals against the Mavericks. He also delivered during the regular season, making 23 above-the-break 3-pointers with four seconds or less on the shot clock, second only to Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray.
“I’ve been playing this game for so long, ” Pritchard said. “I know how quick my moves are. ”
